About Lume

What is Owlnest Lume?
Owlnest Lume is a sleep-spectrum lamp, specially tuned for after dark. It uses a specially tuned sleep spectrum—light specially tuned for nighttime—and is designed to support the body's natural melatonin rhythm.
Is Lume just a normal night light?
No. A normal night light is mainly for visibility. Lume is designed from the spectrum up for sleep, with one physical button, no app, and no screen.
How is Lume different from a normal warm lamp?
Warm is how light looks; spectrum is what the light contains. Ordinary warm light only looks warm. Lume is designed from the spectrum up for sleep.
Why the deep amber, orange-red glow?
Lume's deep amber, saturated orange-red glow changes how the room feels after dark. Its difference is not color alone: Lume uses a specially tuned sleep spectrum. A public product-specific spectral measurement report is still pending.
Claims and boundaries

Sleep and evidence

How is Lume designed around nighttime biology?
Your body uses light to tell time. Lume is designed to support the body's natural melatonin rhythm, based on general light-at-night research. This is a design intention, not a measured hormone or sleep outcome for Lume users.
Can Lume treat insomnia, and is it a medical device?
No. Lume is not a medical device or an insomnia treatment. If sleep problems are ongoing, speak with a qualified professional.
Is Lume clinically proven, and is product-specific spectrum validation available?
The research on the Science page informs Lume's nighttime-light design principles; it does not prove product-specific clinical outcomes. A public product-specific spectrum validation report is still pending.

Evidence boundary

Research references explain the design principles behind nighttime light. They are not product-specific clinical proof.

Nighttime routines

Using Lume

When should I use Lume?
Use Lume after dark during the wind-down before bed—including the final 1–2 hours as practical guidance—or during brief nighttime wake-ups. At bedtime, switch it off unless a small amount of light is still needed.
Can I leave Lume on all night?
Do not treat all-night use as a sleep benefit. At bedtime, switch Lume off unless a small amount of light is still needed. Current product evidence does not establish that leaving it on improves sleep or cannot affect melatonin; individual rooms and light sensitivities vary.
Is Lume bright enough to see or read by?
Lume provides soft nighttime visibility for moving around or settling down. It is not a bright task lamp, and detailed or long-form reading may still need a dedicated reading light.
Can I use Lume for travel or in a shared bedroom?
Yes. Lume can bring a familiar night signal to hotel rooms and can provide softer light when people in the same room have different schedules. Light sensitivity varies from person to person.

Does Lume need an app or track sleep?
